Artificial intelligence art
What happens to art when the artist is a machine? In just a few years, artificial intelligence has gone from a curiosity to a creative force capable of producing images, music, and text that rival human work and the art world is still scrambling to make sense of it.
This talk takes you on a journey into the world of AI-generated art – how these systems actually work, what they can and cannot do, and how they are reshaping the way art is made, sold, and valued. From there, we turn to the thorny legal questions that follow close behind. Who owns a work created by an algorithm the user, the developer, or no one at all? Can AI art be copyrighted? What happens when a model is trained on the work of living artists without their consent, and where does inspiration end and infringement begin? We will also consider the implications for authorship, authenticity, and the future of the art market itself.
